(12) Variable Flow Control OrificeWhen the machine auxiliary control is activated, the host machine supplies hydraulic oil to the piston motor through pressure line (2).Check valve (4) is closed during normal operating mode to block flow from supply line (2) to return line (7). The maximum working pressure for the work tool is 28000 kPa (4061 psi). Relief valve (9) opens to return line (7) if the pressure in supply line (2) reaches 35000 kPa (5076 psi).Supply oil flows to the piston motor (5). The oil flow causes the piston motor to rotate counterclockwise. The oil exits the motor, continues through control manifold then through return line (7) to the hydraulic tank of the host machine. Case drain oil from the motor flows to the host machine case drain circuit through case drain line (8).When the primary auxiliary hydraulic control is deactivated while the drum is running, flow through supply line (2) and return line (7) is blocked by the host machine. The drum continues to spin due to inertial energy and forces the motor to pump oil into return line (7) and raise pressure. The motor removes oil from supply line (2) and reduces pressure. Check valve (4) opens due to the pressure differential and allows oil to flow into supply line (2) to prevent motor cavitation. When the primary auxiliary hydraulic control is operated backwards the primary auxiliary circuit sends pressure flow through return line (7). Check valve (4) opens to send oil back to the host machine through the supply line (2).
