Illustration 1 g02435823This diagnostic code is associated with the system voltage of the machine. The voltage is supplied to the Transmission Electronic Control Module (ECM). The FMI 02 diagnostic code indicates that the ECM has detected that the system voltage is intermittent. The ECM activates this diagnostic code when the system voltage is not in the range of 18 VDC to 32 VDC for more than a few seconds. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
A poor connection of the ground circuit
A poor connection of the voltage supply for the system circuit
A charging system component has failed.
The Transmission ECM has failed. The ECM failing is unlikely. Note: Before performing this procedure, verify that all circuit breakers and fuses in the charging circuit and that the system supply circuit for the ECM are closed. If a problem with a circuit breaker or a fuse is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. Note: Each connector contact should withstand 45 N (10 lb) of pull. Each wire should remain in the connector body. This test checks whether the wire was properly crimped in the contact and whether the contact was properly inserted into the connector. Test Step 1. CHECK SYSTEM VOLTAGE AT THE ECM
