Using the Graphical File Converter
The following section outlines the procedure for converting source files to CAT files by using the Graphical File Converter.Converting Files
Complete the following steps:
Select the design file that will be converted. The file is highlighted.
From the "File" menu, select "Convert".
Select "to CAT File". The "Convert File to a CAT File" dialog appears:

In the "Conversions settings" window, select "Use Graphical File Converter".
In the Graphical File Converter drop-down menu, select a file type. The dialog above shows the CAT file type. The file is set to Elevation design.Note: For design elevations, additional settings can be selected.
Select "Finish" in order to start the Graphical File Converter.Note: A message could appear with the following warning: "The Graphical File Converter could not be created". This indicates one of the following: The Graphical File Converter has not been installed correctly. The Graphical File Converter has not been installed.
Depending on the type of source file that is being used, layers for line work and surfaces may need to be selected. Click "OK" after the selections have been made.
In the Graphical File Converter window, use the tools to check the file that was imported. Ensure that the selected file is the correct file for generating the CAT file.You can perform the following actions:
Zoom in and zoom out.
Pan around the screen.
Define the design boundary again before the CAT file is generated.
Measure the distance and the area.
View the properties of the file and the entities of the file.
View the profiles of the design files.
In order to convert the source file to a CAT file, click "Next".
Use the tools in the toolbar in order to verify that the CAT file that is generated has been converted correctly. Check the surface, the line work, and the text.Note: The graphical view shows the exact information that is saved in the CAT file that is generated.
Click "Finish" in order to save the CAT file.
