Installing the Guard for the Air Conditioning Compressor Belt

Attach the 169-5680 Cover As (8) onto the air conditioning compressor with two 8T-4195 Bolts (5) and two 8T-4121 Hard Washers (4). Bolts (5) should pass through the mounting ears of the air conditioner compressor. Bracket (8) has weld nuts for bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).Installing the Alternator Belt Guard

Replace the 8C-4436 Bolt and the 5P-1076 Hard Washer that is securing the alternator to the adjustment bracket with one 8T-4835 Bolt (7) and one 5P-1074 Hard Washer (1) .Note: A longer bolt is used in this position in order to provide a mounting location for the 209-7705 Guard (9). Do not tighten bolt (7) at this time.
Remove the 7X-0338 Bolt, 8T-4223 Hard Washer, and 9S-1240 Nut that is securing the alternator at the top mounting position. Replace the original hardware with the following items: one 7X-0340 Bolt (3), two 8T-4223 Hard Washers (6) and one 6V-8188 Nut (2) .Note: Do not tighten nut (2) at this time.
Install the 209-7705 Guard (9) onto bolt (7) that was installed in Step 2.
Secure guard (9) with nut (2) and washer (6) that was left loose in Step 3.
Adjust the belt to a tension of 400 44 N m (295 32 lb ft) with the 144-0235 Belt Tension Gauge. Tighten bolt (7) and tighten nut (2) to a torque of 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).
