Remove the clean emissions module.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Disconnect and reposition tube assembly (1). Disconnect temperature sensor (2).

Disconnect clamp assemblies (3) and (4).

Disconnect strap assembly (5) and remove inlet module (catalyst) (6).Installation Procedure
Note: When installing a new inlet module (catalyst) or a cleaned inlet module (catalyst), a DOC reset must be performed. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8180, "Aftertreatment Filter Maintenance on Tier 4 Final Products Equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), and a Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Filter" for the correct procedure.
Install inlet module (catalyst) (6) in the reverse order of removal.

Facing the inlet module assembly.
Install clamp assembly (3) to Dimension (Y). Dimension (Y) is 30° 5°. Tighten clamp assembly (3) to a torque of 60 5 N.m (44 4 lb ft).
Tighten strap assembly (5) to a torque of 16.5 1.5 N m (146 13 lb in).

Note: Do not use power tools to torque band clamp (4).
Verify that the cup of ball joint (F) does not touch the radius of ball (E). Position band clamp (4) and hand tighten band clamp (4). Band clamp (4) should be in the center of the joint.
Dimension (C) and Dimension (D) should be equal within 2.0 mm (0.08 inch). Repeat the measurements every 90° around band clamps (3) and (4). If necessary, adjust band clamps (3) and (4).
Tighten band clamps (3) and (4) at the ball joints to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads on temperature sensor (2). Tighten temperature sensor (2) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft).
