Start the engine and run the engine at high idle. Operate the control levers and move all the cylinders in order to increase the temperature of the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature of approximately 49 to 65°C (120 to 150°F).

Lift Arm Supports
Lower the lift arms to the ground or to the stands.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".

Connect 1U-5481 Pressure Gauge Group or 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator on the pressure tap. The pressure tap is located on the right side of the machine on the non-engine end frame near the articulated hitch.Note: In the following steps, do not keep the lift control lever in the RAISE position for more than five seconds while the pressure is at the relief setting.
Start the engine. Raise the work tool to the maximum height. Hold the lift control lever in the full RAISE position.
Increase the engine speed to high idle. Observe the pressure gauge with the lift control lever in the RAISE position.
On a standard machine, the pressure setting for the relief valve should be 27580 690 kPa (4000 100 psi).
On a logging machine, the pressure setting for the relief valve should be approximately 27580 690 kPa (4000 100 psi).Note: If the pressure setting is correct, proceed to Step 10. If the pressure setting of the relief valve is not correct, proceed with the following steps.
