Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: This procedure was done on a G3612 Engine. This procedure is TYPICAL for all models that are equipped with a generator.

Remove flywheel guard (1), coupling guard (2), and generator guard (3).

Remove the bolts that hold the engine coupling (6) and the generator coupling (5) to the generator coupling plate (7).

Remove filters (11) in order to expose the mounting bolts and the access holes to the dowels on the right side of the generator base. Note: Machining of the dowel holes and the installation of the dowel pins was completed at the time of the final alignment.Note: Mark the location of the generator on the base. Maintain the shims in the proper location for the installation procedure.
Use a 1/2 inch bolt and a washer to remove dowels (13).
Loosen alignment bolts (8).
Remove bolts (9). Check the seals on the bolts for damage. If necessary, replace the seals.
Attach a suitable lifting device in link brackets (4) and (12).
Remove the generator (10) from the generator base. Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting device in link bracket (4) and link bracket (12).
Install the generator (10) on the generator base.
Check the seals on the bolts for damage. If necessary, replace the seals. Ensure that the seals are installed on clean bolts. Install the eight bolts (9).
Tighten the alignment bolts (8).
Install the dowels (13).
Install filters (11).

Install all bolts that hold the engine coupling (6) and the generator coupling (5) to the generator coupling plate (7).

Install the generator guard (3), coupling guard (2), and flywheel guard (1).
