Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the installation procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to torque converter housing (7) and position torque converter housing (7) to torque converter (14). The weight of torque converter housing (7) is approximately 154 kg (340 lb).

Install bolts (13) to torque converter housing (7). Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 56 9 N m (41 7 lb ft).
Install yoke (11), retainer (10), and bolt (9) to torque converter (14). Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 105 15 N m (77 11 lb ft).
Install sensor (12) to torque converter (14). Tighten sensor (12) until the sensor probe contacts the gear teeth. Loosen sensor (12) for 3/4 turn and tighten the jam nut to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft).

Install Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device to torque converter housing (7) and position torque converter housing (7) and the O-ring seal. The weight of torque converter housing (7) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).
Install Tooling (A).

Install nuts (8) to torque converter housing (7).

Remove Tooling (A) and install four bolts (6).

Connect hose assembly (5).
Connect hose assembly (3) and hose (4).
Connect harness assemblies (2) and install the mounting hardware.
Position the hose assemblies and install bolts (1). End By:
Install the power train oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Power Train Oil Pump - Remove".
Install the implement piston pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Implement) - Remove".
Install the main drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
