Conditions Which Generate This Code:The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following condition:
Coolant level is low for 10 seconds.System Response:The ECM will log the warning.
None
The coolant level is most likely low.
There may be a problem with the coolant level sensor.Test Step 1. Check the Coolant Level
Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure.
Stop the engine.
After allowing the engine to cool, check the coolant level.Note: The coolant level sensor should be completely immersed in coolant.Expected Result:The coolant is at the proper level.Results:
OK - There may be an intermittent problem.Repair: Monitor the operation of the engine.Repair the problem.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.
Not OK - Repair: Repair the problem.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.Test Step 2. Check the Coolant Level Sensor
Check the coolant level sensor. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Engine Sensor Open or Shor Circuirt - Test".Expected Result:The coolant level sensor is OK.Results:
