Registration Configure
The Product Link device will register based on one of three pieces of data. The device will look for the following information in this order:
Product ID (Set in Cat ET)
Machine Serial Number (Set in Cat ET)
Engine Serial Number (Detected on Datalink)For equipment that the customer wants to view as the highest level Caterpillar Serial Number, whether an engine, or a higher level, that serial number should be set as the Product ID. Any time a Product ID is set, the device will register as that Serial Number, allowing you to subscribe with that serial number.For situations where the customer wants to view their equipment in the User Interface as a serial number that is not a Cat serial number, you can use the "Machine Serial Number" option. The "Machine Serial Number" is a free form field that can be up to 17 characters long, and allows anything except for special characters. The "Product ID" must be left to default, and the "Machine Serial Number" must be set to the OEM serial number to allow the subscription of equipment in the User Interface with a customer designated serial number.Product ID Configure
