Start By:
Remove the transmission and transfer gears.

Place transmission assembly (1) on suitable wood blocks, as shown. The weight of transmission assembly (1) is 1360 kg (3000 lb).

Remove yoke assembly (2).
Remove tube assemblies (3) and (4).
Disconnect harness assembly (5).

Remove bolts (6) and plate (7).

Remove O-ring seal (8), bolt (9), and retainer plate (10).

Remove bolts (11) and the washers. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to remove input transfer gears (12). The weight of input transfer gears (12) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (13).
Remove harness assembly (14) from the solenoid assemblies.

Remove bolts (16), the washers, ladder clips (15), and solenoid assemblies (17).

Remove sleeves (18).

Remove O-ring seals (19) and (20) from sleeves (18).

Remove tube assembly (21). Remove bolts (22), the washers, and valve assembly (23). Remove bolts (24) and the washers. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to housing (25). The weight of housing (25) is approximately 109 kg (240 lb). Remove housing (25) .

Remove tube assembly (26).
Remove bolts (27) and the washers.

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to transmission assembly (30). The weight of transmission assembly (30) is approximately 485 kg (1070 lb). Remove transmission assembly (30).
Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove transmission assembly (30) from the output transfer gears . The weight of transmission assembly (30) is approximately 700 kg (1540 lb).
Place the transmission assembly on a suitable transmission stand.
