Remove the flywheel housing.
Remove the front housing.
Remove the pistons and connecting rods.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Turn the crankshaft until the timing mark on crankshaft gear (1) is in alignment with the timing mark on camshaft gear (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to crankshaft (4). The weight of the G3304B crankshaft is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). The weight of the G3306B crankshaft is approximately 85 kg (185 lb).
Remove main bearing caps (3). Remove the thrust plates from crankshaft (4).
Remove crankshaft (4).
Remove the crankshaft main bearings from the cylinder block and from the main bearing caps.
