Install seal rings (14) and (15) on clutch piston (13).

Install clutch piston (13) into clutch housing (8).

Attach Tooling (C) and install ball bearing (12) into clutch housing (8). Mark the location of Notch (Y) on ball bearing (12).

Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (C). Install clutch housing (8). The weight of clutch housing (8) is 84 kg (185 lb). Check that Marks (Y) are aligned. Remove Tooling (C).

Install bolts (11) in clutch housing (8). Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 410 50 N m (302.4 36.9 lb ft).

Attach a suitable lifting device to shaft (9). slightly raise shaft (9) in order to install retainer (10).

Install bearing retainer (7) on clutch housing (8). Install bolts (6) and washers that secure bearing retainer (7) to clutch housing (8).

Install O-ring seals (5).

Use the following procedure to make sure that the clutch pistons move within the clutch housings.
Apply shop air pressure, using Tooling (E) (not shown) to each of the five Oil Passages (X). The air pressure must be free of water and the air pressure must not exceed 690 to 1025 kPa (100 to 150 psi).
If the clutch pistons do not move, apply a small amount of clean hydraulic oil in the Oil Passage (X). Check for movement again. If the clutch pistons do not move, the transmission must be disassembled in order to determine the cause.

Install O-ring seal (4) on case assembly (1).

Attach Tooling (C) to case assembly (1). Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to Tooling (C). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Install case assembly (1) on support housing assembly (3). The weight of case assembly (1) is 204 kg (450 lb).
Install bolts (2) that secure case assembly (1) to support housing assembly (3).

Separate case assembly (1) from Tooling (A). End By:
Install the hydraulic control valve.
Connect the transmission and the output transfer gears.
