(18) Pump.Pump (18) is a gear type pump mounted to the rear of the engine on the left side of the machine.Pressure control and relief valve block (3), test plug (4), oil filter (9) and control valve (17) are located on the right side of the operator's station. Access is gained by removing a cover on the side of the machine. Photo shows machine with the cover removed.Operation
Winch Control Circuit Lines Group
(1) Return oil line to pump. (2) Oil supply line to control valve. (3) Pressure control and relief valve block. (4) Test plug. (5) Oil line. (6) Test plug for free spool. (7) Oil line to winch brake. (8) Oil line to free spool. (9) Oil filter. (10) Test plug for reel in. (11) Supply oil line from pump. (12) Reel in oil line. (13) Oil line. (14) Test plug for brake. (15) Oil line. With the engine running, the pump draws oil from the winch sump. Oil flows from the pump to filter (9) through line (11). The oil flows through the filter into pressure control and relief valve block (3).
Pressure Control And Relief Valve Block Schematic
(16) Drain to sump. (17) Supply oil port. (18) Test plug port. (19) Return oil port. (20) Return oil to pump port. (21) Relief valve. (22) Drain port. (23) Pressure control valve. (24) Port to control valve.Oil enters the pressure control and relief valve block at port (17). The oil flows to relief valve (21). Control system oil also flows through a pilot passage in the relief valve. If oil pressure exceeds the relief valve setting, the oil in the pilot passage acts against the bottom of the relief valve. The oil pressure overcomes the tension of the relief valve spring and causes the relief valve to move up. When the relief valve moves up, it opens a path for the oil to flow through port (16) and return to the winch sump.If the oil pressure is less than the relief valve setting of 2275 to 2480 kPa (330 to 360 psi), then the oil flows to pressure control valve (23). The pressure control valve reduces control system oil pressure to 1895 to 2032 kPa (275 to 295 psi). This reduced pressure allows the winch to operate more consistently, with less strain on the control valve and internal winch components. From the pressure reducing valve the oil flows out port (24) and on to the control valve.
