Note: The front axle shares the same oil as the front brakes and the rear axle shares the same oil as the rear brakes. The 3E-5370 PWM Temperature Sensor provides a signal to the Computerized Monitoring System (CMS). If an abnormal temperature condition occurs in either the front or rear axle, a warning category 2 will be provided to the CMS. The CMS will flash the indicator for brake oil temperature (top row, far right indicator) and action lamp to signal the operator to change the machine operation mode. The warning occurs at 100°C in the front axle and 115°C in the rear axle.
The faults that are detected are: If CMS detects a sensor signal outside the valid range, the CMS "SERV CODE" indicator will be illuminated. The service codes are CID 427 for the front axle oil temperature sensor and CID 428 for the rear axle oil temperature sensor. Refer to Service Manual Module, SENR5247-03, page 50 for troubleshooting procedures.
