Disconnect batteries before performance of any service work.
Put identification marks on each wire before disconnecting. 1. Disconnect three wires (1) from the alternator.2. Loosen bolt (4) and remove bolt (2), the nut and the two washers. Push adjusting rod (3) out of the way. 3. Remove bolt (7) and the washer, and remove alternator guard assembly (9).4. Loosen bolt (5). Slide alternator (6) toward the engine to release the tension on alternator belt (8) and remove the alternator belt from the alternator pulley. Remove bolt (5) and the washer, and remove alternator (6) from the alternator mounting bracket. 5. Remove bolts (10), (11), and (12), and the washers, and remove alternator mounting group (13). Install the alternator and mounting group in the reverse order of the removal. After installation of the alternator and mounting group, adjust the tension of the alternator V-belts.
