Inspect the condition of the final drive around the guard (1) . Inspect the final drive for debris or abrasive substances that are wrapped around the final drive such as cable or wire.

Remove the clamshell from the final drive by removing the ten bolts shown above. Refer to the drain plug (2) to remove the correct ten bolts.
Remove the guard (1) .
If the area inside the guard is packed with debris or abrasive substances, clean the debris or abrasive substances from the guard and the final drive.
Install the guard (1) onto the final drive.
