Torque to 1700 200 N m (1254 148 lb ft).
3 1 8F-9516 O-Ring Seal Lubricate the shaft lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
4 1 1J-2176 O-Ring Seal Lubricate the shaft lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
5 1 6G-4362 Shim Pack In order to obtain the bearing preload with vertical or horizontal assembly of the parts, assembly the retainer with three bolts that are equally spaced to a torque of 102 N m (75 lb ft). Rotate the wheel. Retorque three bolts to 136 N m (100 lb ft). Rotate wheel again. Remove the torque from the three bolts. Rotate wheel two revolutions. Retorque three bolts to 68 N m (50 lb ft). Rotate wheel again. Measure the distance from the end of the spline to the cone face. Install the shim pack equal to the above measurement and add 0.25 mm (0.010 inch).
Total thickness of one shim pack is 4.49 0.08 mm (0.177 0.003 inch).
Thickness of each shim in the shim pack for six shims is 0.051 mm (0.0020 inch).
Thickness of each shim in the shim pack for seven shims is 0.25 mm (0.010 inch).
Thickness of each shim in the shim pack for three shims is 0.81 mm (0.032 inch).
6 6 0S-1625 Bolt After bearing adjustment, apply blue Loctite 242 to the threads.
Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts:
1. Torque to 22 6 N m (195 53 lb in).
2. If bolt is not inserted completely at previous torque, bolt should be discarded.
3. Torque to 125 20 N m (92 15 lb ft) then to 250 40 N m (184 30 lb ft).
7 1 213-7509 Duo-Cone Seal Gp Rubber toric rings, and all surfaces that contact the rings, must be clean and dry at assembly. Apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the metal seals prior to assembly. Seal rings must be assembled square with the bore and toric must not be bulged or twisted.
8 6 1A-2029 Bolt Apply blue Loctite 242 to the threads.
