The elevator of the 623G Wheel Tractor-Scraper is controlled by the left and right movement of a thumb lever (1) on the joystick. The thumb lever on the joystick sends a 500 Hz PWM signal to the Machine Control ECM at connector contact J1-2. When the operator moves the thumb lever on the joystick to the left, the elevator will move forward. The ECM sends a signal to the Solenoid (Elevator Enable) through connector contact J2-68. If the requested direction is reverse, the ECM sends a signal to the Solenoid (Elevator Direction) through connector contact J2-25. If the direction is forward, the Solenoid (Elevator Direction) remains de-energized. There is a slight delay before the elevator begins moving in any direction, or before the elevator changes direction. When the elevator is moving at the desired speed, press the trigger on the joystick in order to set the speed of the elevator. The trigger sends a signal to the ECM at normally open connector contact J1-55 and normally closed J1-54. If the thumb lever is moved past the setpoint in order to increase the speed, the trigger must be pressed again in order to set the elevator speed at the higher speed.When the operator moves the thumb lever on the joystick to the right, the elevator will reverse direction. The ECM sends a signal to the Solenoid (Elevator Direction) through connector contact J2-68. The speed of the reverse direction can be set by pressing the trigger on the joystick.
