4. As shown in Image 1.4.1, assemble the housing to spindle, and install 421-6163 Adapter, 6V-8634 Adapter, and 6V-9850 Adapter with seals to the housing. Attach the 456-9152 Tube Assembly to the adapters. Install 9S-4185 Plug with 3K-0360 Seal into the bottom hole of the housing. Assemble remaining tubes as seen in KENR8715 (Final Drive, Brake, and Wheel -Install)

5. Right side is shown in image above. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for Left Hand Wheel Station with seal housing rotated 180 degrees as the components are the same (new lubrication tube assembly will always be on top of seal housing/coupler/axle shaft).

Procedure ? Motor Coupler Installation & Pull Test:
1. With a wire brush, thoroughly clean the external splines on the traction motor rotor shaft. Visually inspect the rotor shaft splines for damage. If chipping or cracking is present, refer to SEBF8225 to determine reusability. Refer to SEPD1919 to verify if additional spacer is needed on the end of the motor shaft.
2. Attempt to install the coupler onto the rotor shaft without heating the coupler. If the coupler splines engage motor splines whatsoever, then the motor has excessive spline wear and needs to be replaced.
3. Fully coat motor splines with Loctite Moly Paste. Heat the coupler to 280 degrees Celsius (536 degrees Fahrenheit) and assemble onto the traction motor shaft with the axle spline (tapped holes) outward. Slide the coupler onto the traction motor splines until the coupler bottoms out on traction motor spline. Install the 6V-8133 Bolt and 201-2271 Washer hand tight to ensure the coupler doesn?t move during cooling. A fan can be used to accelerate cooling of the coupler.
4. Fabricate the adapter plate from mild steel per Image1.5.1.

5. After the coupler has cooled to room temperature, remove the 6V-8133 Bolt and 201-2271 Washer. For coupler pull test, install 6V-8133 Bolt, 293-8335 Spacer, and a M24 washer with greater than 3 mm thickness (such as 8T-4167). Usage of the additional M24 washer is to ensure that the bolt doesn?t bottom out in the threaded hole. Install adapter plate onto the coupler using six 8T-4194 Bolts and six 8T-4223 Washers. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 100 N.m (75 lb ft).

6. Thread the hydraulic puller (360-6958 or 5P-9725) into the adapter plate.
Image1.8.1
7. Measure the gap between the bearing cover and the coupler end as shown in Image1.8.1. Record this dimension.
Image1.9.1
8. Apply 2500 PSI, 17.23 MPa (equivalent to 2.5 tons, 2.3 tonnes) to the hydraulic puller and allow the hydraulic puller to sit for 10 minutes while maintaining applied pressure. Then turn off and remove the hydraulic puller & adapter plate assembly.
9. Re-measure the gap between the bearing cover and the coupler end and compare with previous measurement.
a. If gap has increased, the motor must be replaced with new. To prevent damaging the coupler splines, re-heat the coupler and use minimal force to completely remove the coupler off the motor shaft.
b. If gap has not changed, the components are acceptable. No further inspection or testing is required.
10. Remove the 6V-8133
