Rework Procedure
Note: Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section".

This procedure is only intended to correct a Caterpillar heel or bucket cylinder. For other attachments, check the appropriate trouble shooting guide.
1. Start by checking the machine bucket/heel/tool cylinder cycle time. If it is outside of the time shown, then the cylinder is most likely incorrectly hydraulically connected. Refer to Image1.1.1.
The recommended repair, if the circuit is incorrectly connected, is to turn over the cylinder (heel) and reconnect swapping the head and rod side then change the pilot lines to ensure that the command to the cylinder is correct.

2. Check the hose routing ensuring that the R5 port on the main control valve connects to the rod end port of the cylinder. Likewise, ensure that the L5 port on the main control valve connects to the head end port of the cylinder. Refer to Image1.2.1.

3. Check that the pilot lines are in the correct location in the pilot manifold block underneath the cab in the riser. Refer to Image1.3.1.
4. Check the hose routing ensuring that the pR5f pilot port on the main control valve connects to the B1 port on the manifold in, and the A1 port on the manifold out connects to the JR4 pilot port on the joystick base.
5. Check the hose routing ensuring that the pL5f pilot port on the main control valve connects to the B3 port on the manifold in, and the A3 port on the manifold out connects to the to the JR2 pilot port on the joystick base.

6. For the bucket/heel/tool function, ensure that the joystick command is correct for the attachment on the machine and matches with the information on the decal in the cab. Refer to Images1.4.1 and 1.4.2.

7. Refer to the correct hydraulic call outs on the amended hydraulic schematic. Refer to Image1.5.1.
