Verify that the broadcast system (transmitter) is operating correctly.Expected Result:The broadcast system (transmitter) is operating correctly.Results:
OK - The broadcast system (transmitter) is operating correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The broadcast system (transmitter) is not operating correctly.Repair: Repair the broadcast system.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK FOR AN OPEN IN THE HARNESS
Turn on the keyswitch and the disconnect switch.
Disconnect the VIMS 3G Main ECM connector.
Disconnect the RS232 port from the broadcast system.
Measure the resistance of the circuits shown in Table 1.

OK - All measurements are less than 5.0 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - All measurements are greater than 5000 ohms.Repair: Repair or replace the harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR A SHORT TO GROUNDThe harness remains disconnected from the VIMS 3G Main ECM and the broadcast system.
Measure the resistance from frame ground to the following VIMS 3G Main ECM connector contacts:
13 (wire N957-PK(Pink))
22 (wire N960-OR(Orange))
23 (wire N970-YL(Yellow))
30 (wire N973-BR(Brown))Expected Result:All measurements are greater than 5000 ohms.Results:
OK - All measurements are greater than 5000 ohms. The VIMS 3G Main ECM may have failed. However, ECM failure is unlikely.Repair: Perform the following:

Perform this procedure again.
If the failure is not found, contact your technical communicator.Reference: If ECM replacement is required, see the Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace" Section of this manual.STOP
