(1) 24 VDC Power Supply 1 (2) 24 VDC Power Supply 2Shutdown procedure for Single Input with Maintenance Bypass
If 24 VDC is still available, the service person should perform a "Control X" on the PC in order to brake the rotor. This will ensure that there is no power in the system upon shutdown.
Note: When this procedure is performed, do not leave the system shut down for an extended period of time. The rotor is spinning on the bottom bearing. This could cause unnecessary bearing wear. When the flywheel is spinning, the following components are energized: the bus, armature leads and fuses.
Turn the keyswitch for the System Cabinet to the Bypass position. Make sure that the system is in Bypass mode.
If equipped, close the Maintenance Bypass Circuit Breaker (MBP) that is located on the Input/Output cabinet.
If equipped, open the Maintenance Isolation Switch (MIS) that is located in the Input/Output Cabinet.
If equipped, open the Input Isolation Switch (IIS) or Bypass Input Switch that is located in the Input/Output cabinet.
Allow the capacitor banks to bleed down for approximately 5 minutes in order to dissipate any residual energy in the bus, armature leads, and fuses.Shutdown Procedure for Dual Input with Maintenance Bypass
