Location of the coolant temperature sensor
The sensing element must be submerged in the coolant to operate. Be sure that the engine has an adequate coolant supply in the jacket water system, or engine damage may result.
The coolant temperature switch is located in the cylinder head. High coolant temperature closes the coolant temperature switch. Once the coolant temperature switch is closed, an alarm is activated or a fuel shutoff is activated. The generator set control (GSC) must be reset before the engine can be restarted.Coolant Level Sensor
The coolant level sensor is usually mounted on the expansion tank or the radiator. The sensor detects the coolant level below a preset minimum level.If the coolant drops below the minimum level, the coolant level sensor may activate an alarm or the coolant level sensor may cause the engine to shutdown. Overheating or possible engine damage can be avoided when the coolant level sensor is activated. Coolant must be added to the radiator in order to reset the condition. The Generator Set Control (GSC) must be reset before the engine can be restarted.Engine Oil Pressure Sensor

The fuel shutoff solenoid will shut down the engine if oil pressure is not achieved. If the engine is running and oil pressure is lost, the fuel shutoff solenoid that is energized will shut down the engine. The generator set control (GSC) must be reset before the engine can be restarted.Engine Step Oil Pressure
The engine step oil pressure is an adjustable speed setting that protects the engine from a failure that is caused by too little oil pressure for a specified speed range. This option requires two oil pressure switches. One oil pressure switch has a high pressure rating. When the engine is running above the high speed setting, the oil pressure must be maintained. The oil pressure must be maintained at a higher pressure than the rating of the oil pressure switch. The second oil pressure switch has a low pressure rating. When the engine is running below the speed setting, the oil pressure must be maintained.
