Removal Procedure
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

Loosen hose clamp (6). Disconnect hoses (4) and (7) from the water pump. Remove clip (1) on the ground wire from the back of the water pump. Remove bolts (3) from bracket (5) on the side of the water pump. Remove fitting (2) from the side of water pump.

Loosen upper clamp (8) on the hose that connects to the water temperature regulator housing.

Remove bolts (9) and remove guards (10) .

Loosen upper bolt (11) on the top of the alternator.

Remove bolts (12) on the top part of the bracket (5).

Remove bolts (13) that hold water pump (14) to the engine block. Pivot the bottom part of the bracket outward and remove the water pump.Installation Procedure
Install water pump (14) in the reverse order of removal.
