Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Illustration 1 g01158560Oil filter covers (3) are located on top of the hydraulic tank. Two oil filters and a screen are located under each oil filter cover. The hydraulic tank is located at the right rear of the tractor.
Park the machine on level ground. Engage the parking brake.
Lower the bowl to the ground. Shut off the engine.
Clean hydraulic oil filler cap (2). The hydraulic oil filler cap is located on top of the hydraulic tank.
The hydraulic oil filler cap is a locking cap. If a padlock is on the cap, remove the padlock. Raise lever (1) in order to engage the lug.

Press the button on the breaker relief valve in order to relieve pressure in the hydraulic tank. Turn the hydraulic oil filler cap counterclockwise in order to remove the cap.
Clean oil filter covers (3). Remove four bolts (4) that hold each oil filter cover in place.
Remove the four filters. Discard the filters properly.
Remove the two screens.
Wash the screens in clean, nonflammable solvent. Inspect the screens for damage. Replace any screens that are damaged.
Install the two screens. Install four new filters.
Inspect the O-ring seals for the oil filter covers. Replace the O-ring seals if the O-rings are damaged.
Install the oil filter covers.
