Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install Tooling (B) to differential and bevel gear (11). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). Attach the lifting device to a hoist. Position differential and bevel gear (11) and the O-ring seal into the rear axle housing. Ensure that dowel (X) is in alignment with the hole in differential and bevel gear (11). The weight of differential and bevel gear (11) is 400 kg (880 lb).
Install the 16 bolts and the hard washers that hold differential and bevel gear (11) to the rear axle housing.

Position a suitable lifting sling around support assembly (9). Attach the lifting sling to a hoist. Position support assembly (9) on the rear axle housing. Install 12 bolts (10) and the washers. The weight of support assembly (9) is 250 kg (550 lb).

Install Tool (A) to the rear axle housing and position the rear axle housing, as shown.
Position manifold (6) onto the rear axle housing. Install the two bolts and the washers that hold manifold (6) to the rear axle housing. Install slack adjuster (7) on manifold (6).
Install two tube assemblies (4) onto the rear axle housing. Install two tube assemblies (8) onto the rear axle housing.
Install bolt (5), the washer and the clip to the support assembly.
Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for the remaining tube assemblies on the remaining sides of the rear axle housing.

Install a 3/8 inch - 16 NC eyebolt into pin (3). Install pin (3) and the O-ring seal into the axle housing assembly.

Install the shims, cover (1), two bolts (2) and the washers. Refer to Power Train, Testing and Adjusting, SENR1550, "Differential and Bevel Gear - Adjust" for the correct procedure to install the shims. End By:
Install the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Install".
Install the rear axle housing and the differential. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Axle Housing and Differential - Install".
