shifts can be commanded while the machine is in motion or when the machine is fully stopped. The electronic-controlled hydrostatic transmission will manage the deceleration rate and acceleration rate depending on the engine speed command, ground speed and Hystat Aggressiveness setting (if equipped). Faster directional shifts can be achieved by commanding full throttle during the shift or by selecting the ‘maximum’ Hystat Aggressiveness mode via the machine keypad.Slower directional shifts can be achieved by reducing the throttle command and pressing the brakes to bring the machine to a stop or by selecting the ‘minimum’ Hystat Aggressiveness mode via the machine keypad. It is recommended that the operator consider the load and height of the worktool as well as the site conditions when changing direction. Bringing the machine to a complete stop before changing direction will provide operator comfort, maximum load stability and the maximum service life of the power train components. It is recommended to keep the worktool low to the ground to provide stability during directional shifts.The following steps outline a controlled, complete stop directional shift.
Lower the engine speed with the throttle pedal.
Push the brake pedal downward in order to slow the machine. Push the brake pedal downward in order to stop the machine.
Move the transmission direction control switch 30 on the joystick to the desired direction.
Release the brake pedal.
