(5XJ, 8CJ, 3HK) Loaders Equipped With Dual Horsepower ArrangementReference: Systems Operation, Testing And Adjusting, 3406 Vehicular Engine, REGO1438-06, Page 67, "Fuel Setting Procedure". Dual horsepower arrangements require "two" 2T Specification settings. The 2T appearing on the engine serial number plate identifies the higher setting. The 2T Specification identifying the lower setting is located in the "TMI-General Engine Data Program. Both settings must be known before adjusting the dual horsepower solenoid. To locate the 2T Specification for the lower setting use the following procedure:1. At the "ACF2M/IMS Application Selection Menu", select "GKN401" TMI-General Engine Data.2. At the "GKN401" TMI-General Engine Data menu, select "Program 06" TMI-ESRS (0T's) Spec List.3. At the "06 TMI-ESRS (0T's) Spec List screen. Insert the 2T Specification number shown on the engine serial number plate and press "Enter".4. At the "ESRS Test Specification History screen, enter "03" in the "next tran: info code ( ) and press "Enter".5. This screen will then display the second "2T" Specification for "Multi Engine Ratings".After using the above procedure to acquire the correct "2T" Specifications, use the procedure that follows to adjust the dual horsepower solenoid:
1. Remove plug and place the zero pin in the rack slot.2. Install the dial indicator and set to zero.3. Install solenoid and screw out to eliminate interference with desired setting.4. Remove the zero pin, attach the throttle lever and apply (gently) enough force on the lever to bring the rack against the stop.5. Screw the solenoid to the desired rack specification setting and tighten the locknut on the solenoid. If you go beyond the desired setting, you must back out the solenoid and start over.6. Remove the indicator and reseal the solenoid.
