If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.

2 hrs to tap weep hole and seal
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Tools needed:
Hand drill or drill press
6.2 mm drill bit
Tap wrench
1/16 x 27 NPTP tap
Tapping fluid
Torque wrench(s) 0-47 Nm
Fine abrasive cloth
Lip seal removal tool
Lip seal installation tool
Loctite #592
4 mm Hex allen wrench
New hydraulic oil
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
Work only in a clean environment.
1) Remove the 337-9944 Pump from the machine.
2) Disassemble the 337-9944 Pump. The bolts and washers will not be reused.
3) Wash and clean the 6Y-4201 Body Assembly.
4) Remove both 137-7657 Lip seals. The lip seals will not be reused.
5) Protect both bearings.
6) Enlarge the weep hole with a 6.2 mm drill bit. Refer to Images 1.2.1 and 1.2.2.

7) Tap this new hole with the 1/16 x 27 tap and tap fluid. Refer to Images 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.

8) Sand and remove all sharp edges/burrs from the lip seal area with a fine abrasive cloth.
9) Wash and clean the body assembly and dry.
10) Insert the 3D-4603 Plug with Loctite 592 and an allen wrench. Refer to Images 1.4.1 and 1.4.2.

INSTALLATION DIRECTION IS IMPORTANT
11) Install (2) new 353-3679 Lip seals. Refer to Images 1.5.1 and 1.5.2.
12) Reassemble the pump with some new hydraulic oil on the outside lip seal and new powertrain oil on the inner lip seal/gear faces.
13) Install the following new fasteners/bolts and washers:

6Y-5010
9F-8999
14) Replace the five 161-8068 Seals between pump sections, if necessary.
15) Tighten the bolts to a torque of 47 Nm.
THE PUMP SHAFT MUST TURN FREELY BY HAND
16) Replace the following seals as required.
Transmission/Converter Charging Inlet - seal 4J-0527
Transmission Scavenge Inlet - seal 4J-0524
Converter Charging Outlet - seal 8M-4987 or 4J-0520
Converter Scavenge Inlet - seal 8M-4987 or 4J-0520
Transmission/Converter Scavenge Outlet - seal 8M-4987 or 4J-0520
Transmission Charging Outlet - seal 4J-5267
