Change Oil
Do not overfill the gear box. If the gear box contains an excessive amount of oil, the oil will overheat during operation. Remove the plug from the remote drain and drain the oil. Clean and install the drain plug. Follow the hydraulic oil viscosity recommendations for the expected ambient temperature range. These recommendations are found in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the standard 140G motor grader. Incorrect choice of oil can result in All Wheel Drive component failure. Factory fill oil is SAE 30W whose operating range is -20°C (-4°F) to + 40°C (+104°F). Remove the level plug from the front of the gear box. Fill the gear box with SAE 30W oil, (using mating coupling 1P2376) through the fill coupling on the remote location on the right side of the machine.Maintain the oil level to the bottom of the level plug opening. Install the level plug and the coupling cap.Hydraulic Filter (All Wheel Drive Charge System)
Change Filter
1. Use a strap wrench to remove the filter element. Discard the used element.2. Clean the filter base with a clean soft cloth. Be sure all of the old seal is removed.3. Coat the seal with a thin film of clean engine oil. Install the filter element until the seal contacts the filter base. Tighten the filter element an additional 1/2 to 3/4turn.Start the engine and run it at Low Idle. Check for leaks. Add HYDO, DEO or EO oil to the hydraulic tank if necessary.
