Removal Procedure
Clamp assemblies MUST only be used once. Discard all clamp assemblies after use.
Bellows assemblies MUST only be used once. Discard all bellows assemblies after use.

Loosen clamps (1) and clamps (2).
Attach a suitable lifting device onto exhaust manifolds (3). The weight of exhaust manifolds (3) is approximately 48 kg (105 lb). Note: The joint between inlet manifold (4) and the exhaust manifold is not serviceable. Do not loosen or remove bolts (5) when the exhaust manifold, the inlet manifold, the bellows, or the turbochargers are serviced.

Remove bolts (7) and the washers from exhaust manifolds (3). Loosen bolts (6). If necessary, remove temperature sensor adapter (8) and the thermowell.

Loosen clamps (10), (11), and (12). Rotate turbine housing (9) away from bellows (13).
Remove exhaust manifold (3).
Remove inlet manifold (4), exhaust manifold (3), and the bellows together.
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for the opposite side. Installation Procedure

Illustration 4 g02211737Note: Position the clamps on the exhaust manifolds before installation. All the clamps must be new.
Attach a suitable lifting device onto exhaust manifold (3). The weight of exhaust manifold (3) is approximately 48 kg (105 lb). Position exhaust manifold (3). Attach inlet manifold (4), exhaust manifold (3), and the bellows to the installed exhaust manifold (3). Install Tooling (A) and tighten the bellows.
Rotate and align turbine housing (9). Install new exhaust bellows (13).
Install clamps (11), (10), and (12).

Remove Tooling (A). Install bolts (7) in exhaust manifolds (3). Tighten bolts (6) and (7).
If necessary, inspect the threads and the sealing surface for damage on the temperature sensor adapter (8) and the thermowell. Apply Tooling (C) on the threads and install the thermowell. Tighten the thermowell to a torque of 47 4 N m (35 3 lb ft).
Install temperature sensor adapter (8) and tighten temperature sensor adapter (8) to a torque of 45 5 N m (34 4 lb ft).

Tighten new clamps (2) and (1). Ensure that inlet manifold (4) and bolts (5) have not been removed or loosen.
Use Tooling (B) to check bellows in order to verify alignment by running the shim between the corrugations. Repeat the process if the bellows do not rotate freely between the convolutions.
Repeat Steps 1 through 8 for the opposite side.
