Control Pedals
Control Pattern
Before you start machine operation, make sure that no person is on the machine or near the machine and check the machine control pattern for conformance to the pattern indicated on the pattern card in the cab by slowly and carefully moving each of machine controls. Starting machine operation with the pattern not matching could result in critical machine damage and/or personal injury.
(a) To extend telescopic stick- Push down the toe end of the pedal, as indicated by a black arrow, to extend the telescopic stick.(b) To retract telescopic stick- Push down the toe end of the pedal, as indicated by a white arrow, to retract the telescopic stick.Operate this machine only after you have understood the machine specifications, confirmed the machine control pattern in conformance to the pattern on the pattern card, and familiarize yourself with the machine control pattern.Implement Controls
(a) Telescopic stick extended(b) Telescopic stick retracted 1. For machine control patterns other than that of telescopic stick control, see the section "Joystick Controls" in Operation & Maintenance Manual for the standard machine.2. For details about changing machine control pattern, see the section "Control Pattern Quick Changer" in Operation & Maintenance Manual for the standard machine. Controls for "Dump" of the telescopic stick clamshell bucket are the same as for "Dump" of the standard machine backhoe bucket.3. Activation of the telescopic stick can always be controlled in the same way, regardless of any machine control pattern.Telescopic Mode Switch
This switch is located at the front of the right console.(2) Telescopic mode ON(3) Telescopic mode OFFMake sure that the telescopic mode switch is in the ON position before attempting to start any telescopic stick operation. To turn on, first pull up the switch to position (1) and then move it to position (2). When the switch is turned on, the attachment circuits are set for two-pump/double-action system.
To start any telescopic stick operation, be sure to turn on this switch. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
While the telescopic mode switch is ON, its LED indicator should go ON. To start any telescopic stick operation, make sure that the LED indicator is turned on. Before you start to use any work mode other than the telescopic mode, put the telescopic mode switch in OFF position (3). As long as the telescopic mode switch is in ON position, hydraulic attachment circuits will switch neither from two-pump flow to one-pump flow nor from double-action to single-action, allowing the telescopic mode to override any other implement functions. Make sure that the telescopic mode switch is in the OFF position before you start any operation other than telescopic stick operation.Locking telescopic stick control pedals
This illustration indicates the right pedal used to extend the telescopic stick.(A) Telescopic stick LOCKED(B) Telescopic stick UNLOCKED (Lock pin storage position)When you are not using the telescopic stick, put the lock pin (1) in the LOCKED position (A). This will lock the pedal to prevent any unexpected operation of the telescopic stick. As to locking
