Take pictures of ports, clips and pick up tubes through the cut out sections to help in analysis of root cause failure.

Prior to installation of plate assembly (1) to the fuel tank, install plug assembly (AB) to the fuel pick up tube in plate assembly (1).
Engage a blow gun to the open end of the fuel pick up tube to create pressure between 20 kPa (3 psi) to 34 kPa (5 psi) and submerge it to pressure test the fuel pick up tube in plate assembly for any leaks.
After completing the pressure test, remove the plug assembly (AB) from the fuel pick up tube.

Locate plate assembly (1) with its front face placed on interior face of sheet (C) per orientation of the cut out portion.

Locate plate assembly (1) per orientation of cut out portion on sheet (C) using boss (AC) and locating plate (AD).
Tack weld (W) the plate assembly to the sheet (C) in four locations as shown in Illustration 15.Note: After tack welding, remove the boss (AC) and locating plate (AD).

Install the support assembly (2) on the fuel pick up tube by sliding and rotating the support assembly.

Ensure that the plate in the support assembly (2) rests on top of the fuel tanks bottom plate.
Weld (W1) the plate of support assembly (2) on both sides to the fuel tanks bottom plate using 3.0 mm (0.12 inch) weld.

Locate plate assembly (3) per orientation of cut out portion on sheet (C) using boss (AC) and locating plate (AD). Tack weld (W2) the plate assembly (3) to sheet (A) on three places.Note: After tack welding, remove boss (AC) and locating plate (AD).

Weld (W4) plate assembly (1) to the cut out portion of sheet (C) using 5 mm (0.20 inch) continuous weld.
Prior to installation, check the fuel tank by pressurizing it between 20 kPa (3 psi) to 34 kPa (5 psi).
If the fuel tank is about to be stored for future use, prevent it by applying rust preventive compounds like aerosol penetrating oil or volatile corrosion inhibitor per 1E2359.
