Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "All Products Air Conditioning and Heating R134a for All Caterpillar Machines" for the recovery and charging procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

Remove vent cover (1). Remove bolt (2) and the vent channel.
Remove fasteners (3). Unlock boom lock (4), and remove the knob. Remove knobs (5). Remove bolts (7) and housing (6).

Remove upper half of housing (9) by lifting directly upwards. Relocate panel assembly (10) to one side.

Remove covers (11) and (12).

Remove post cover (13). Remove bolts (14).

Remove temperature control knob (15) and disconnect the control from the dash. Pull dash and cover assembly (16) outward and disconnect harness assemblies. Remove cover assembly (16). Note: Mark all plug assemblies before disconnecting.

Disconnect tube assemblies (18). Disconnect hoses (19).

Install air conditioner and heater (20 ) in the reverse order of removal.
