The 489-6966 Differential Gp may fail on the machines listed above. The following failure may occur when the differential lock group is engaged at a higher speed:
Dog clutch teeth failure
Output shaft spline failure

Solution
In the event of failure, replace the 489-6966 Differential Gp with the same part number.Report the failure through the CPI feedback tool in Service Information Management System (SIMSi) referencing CPI number 398018. Take a picture of the condition and attach to the report before you start the rework procedure.Note: Do not engage the differential lock above 4.0 km/h (2.5 mph). Catastrophic failure may occur.

(2) Differential lock solenoidIf the differential lock is not used and to protect from any potential failure, the differential lock solenoid (2) can be disconnected to prevent engagement. Once an identified fix is available, the differential lock can be reactivated.
