Install a new stopper assembly (15) in the ends of the track pin. The stopper assembly must be recessed in the pin 9 4 mm (.30 .15 inch).
Illustration 7 g01532742
The pin must be installed with the hole end on the same side of the track assembly for the entire length of the track assembly. The oil crosshole in the pin must be within 20 degrees of the vertical centerline of the pin bore and closest to the rail of the link. The pins have a mark on the end for crosshole location. Also, the pin must be installed with a minimum amount of force to get a maximum amount of end play of 0.13 mm (.005 inch) between the bushing and the thrust ring. Use a maximum force of 1245 N (280,000 lb) when the track is assembled.
Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (G) .
Put Tooling (G) and pin (4) in position and install the pin until the end of the pin is approximately 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) from the track link.

Use Tooling (G) and Tooling (J) in order to finish installing the pin. Once the pin is completely installed, increase the hydraulic pressure to 60288 kPa (8,750 psi). Increasing the hydraulic pressure will provide the pin joint with installation to zero end play. The pin must extend 1.80 0.13 mm (.071 .005 inch) above the counterbore in the link.
Repeat steps 19 through 21 in order to install the other pin.

Note: The vacuum test must pass for the pin joint. The pressure test must pass for the pin joint. If the test fails, the pin must be disassembled and repaired.
Use Tooling (K) to evacuate the pin joint. Release the button that controls the vacuum flow. Release the button when vacuum has reached the highest reading on the gauge. Observe the vacuum gauge reading for 10 to 15 seconds. No reduction in vacuum should be noticed. Use the button in order to fill the oil in the pin joint. This will fill the pin joint with SAE 90W gear oil. Perform this step until the needle on the gauge stabilizes. Release the button that controls the oil and observe the gauge reading. No drop in pressure should be observed. If a drop in pressure occurs, press the button that controls the oil again and add oil for 10 to 15 seconds. Fill time will vary for some seal cavities because the oil must seep by the small grooves in the thrust rings. Repeat the step in order to fill the oil until there is no pressure loss. Press the button that controls the evacuation of the system and hold the button down for approximately five seconds. Once the pin joint has been completely filled with oil evacuating the pin joint removes the correct amount of oil in order for "partial fill" to be obtained.
Use Tooling (N) and install the plugs in the stoppers.
