Checking the Adjustment
1. Position the machine on a level surface, preferably a recently leveled grade. Lower the screed onto the level surface. If there is no level surface, lower the screed onto wooden blocks that are approximately 20 25% greater in thickness than the compacted mat. Place the blocks near each end of the screed. 2. Use tow point lift switches (1) to set both tow points at mid-travel (the hole in the leveling arm should be aligned with the hole in the tow point post).3. Turn the thickness control cranks until they are both in the nulled or slack position.Check the bottom of the screed with a surveyor's or carpenter's level. Adjust the blocks as necessary to level the screed. Check the slope beam for straightness. Repair or replace as necessary. 4. Install the slope sensor on the slope beam and connect the cable at the sensor and at the rear bulkhead of the machine (connect to the side of the bulkhead that will be used to maintain cross slope).5. Connect the remote setpoint cable to the slope sensor and set the setpoint at 0 (zero) slope.6. With the engine running, move sensor switch (3) to the STANDBY position.Feeder Sensor Adjustment
Perform the following adjustments for initial setup of feed sensor control for paving 3 meters wide and 5 to 10 centimeters deep (10 feet wide and 2 to 4 inches deep). Paving at wider widths will require mounting the feed sensors outboard of the auger shaft bearing supports or on the end gates. Sensitivity adjustments will vary with the type of asphalt, mat thickness, paving width, etc.1. Set sensitivity at LOW position.2. Mount the paddle so it is inline with the centerline of the auger shaft when the auger shaft is stopped. The augers will run at full speed at the bottom position and the speed will decrease as the paddle rotates to the stop position at 45°. Rotate the left-hand feed sensor assembly so the power cord is at bottom center. Rotate the right-hand feed sensor assembly so the power cord is at top center.Tow Point Cylinders - Install Pins
1. Make sure the ignition switch in the ON position with the engine running. 2. Move tow point control switch (1) to UP or DOWN until the hole in leveling arm (2) is aligned with the hole in support (3).3. Install the pin through leveling arm (2) and support (3).4. Repeat for the other side of the machine.Tow Point Cylinders - Remove Pins
1. With the engine running, move tow point control switch (1) to UP or DOWN until the pin can be removed.2. Repeat for the other side of the machine.Positioning the Paver
Drive the machine to the starting point and align it with the edge of the grade, curb, gutter, mat or other reference to be used. Position the steering indicator so that it and the steering reference are easily visible.Screed Adjustment
For manual screed operation, the tow point pins should be installed through leveling arms (1) and
