Attachment On The 3500 Family Of EnginesDescription of Change: A new spacer is used in the alternator belt guard group. The illustration shows the location of the spacer(s). The new spacer has a smaller inside and outside diameter than the former spacer. The former spacer could contact the fiberglass guard in areas that were not reinforced with the embedded metal ring. This could cause the guard to crack. The new spacer can only contact the metal ring that is embedded in the fiberglass guard. The new spacer will improve the reliability of the alternator belt guard group.
Location of the new 7E5639 Spacers in 7W5780 Alternator Belt Guard Group.Adaptable To: The new 7E5639 Spacer is a direct replacement for the former 2H9233 Spacer in the 7W5780 Alternator Belt Guard Group. Two spacers are used in each group. This group is standard on the engines in the above machines and an attachment on the 3500 Family of Engines. The new 7E5639 Spacer is in effect as shown in the chart. The new 7E5639 Spacer has a 21.3 mm (.84") outside diameter and a 13.9 mm (.55") inside diameter. The former 2H9233 Spacer has a 25.4 mm (1.00") outside diameter and a 14.3 mm (.56") inside diameter.
