Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the auger shaft hub and gerotor motor from the auger housing. Refer to Owner's Manual, "Auger Shaft Hub and Gerotor Motor - Remove" .
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on the gerotor motor in order to ensure proper placement when you assemble the gerotor motor.

Remove seven bolts (1) and end cover (2) .

Turn over the end cover (2) and remove the seal ring (3) . Discard the seal ring.

Remove commutator ring (4) .
Remove commutator (5) and seal ring (6) . Discard the seal ring.

Remove seal ring (7) from port plate (8) . Discard the seal ring.
Remove port plate (8) .

Turn over port plate (8) . Remove seal ring (9) from the port plate. Discard the seal ring.

Remove rotor set (10) .Note: Components of the rotor set may become disassembled when you remove rotor set (10) . Put identification marks on the top of stator (12) and on the top of rotor (11) before you remove rotor set (10) .

Turn over rotor set (10) . Remove seal ring (13) . Discard the seal ring.

Remove the wear plate (14) .

Remove seal ring (15) from motor housing (18) . Discard the seal ring.
Remove drive link (16) .
Remove thrust bearing (17) .

Remove coupling shaft (19) from motor housing (18) .

Remove lip seal (20) from motor housing (18) . Discard the seal.
