VIBRATORY COMPACTOR,
Information:
This test will show if the synchronizing solenoid operates correctly. This test will also show if the priority valve operates correctly.
Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the power train.
For the proper set up procedure, refer to "Testing and Adjusting" section of Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting".Procedure
Lower all the implements to the ground. Turn off the engine.
Block the tractor wheels on each side.
Illustration 1 g00870909
Support the rear of the scraper in order to obtain clearance between the wheel and the ground. Refer to Illustration 1.
Remove the tractor axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove".

Connect Tooling (E) to Tool (C) .
Illustration 4 g00788572
Location of tractor transmission plug
Remove the plug from the right side of the tractor transmission case in order to gain access to the rotary selector spool.
Install a socket extension in the end of the rotary selector spool. Install a ratchet on the extension.
Turn the tractor key start and disconnect switch ON. Do not start the tractor engine.
Start the scraper engine and run the engine at LOW IDLE rpm.
Move the tractor transmission rotary selector spool to any speed position.
Disconnect the synchronizing solenoid harness from the solenoid.
The pressure at pressure tap (3) must be 690 35 kPa (100 5 psi).
The pressure at pressure taps P1 (2) and P2 (1) must be 0 kPa (0 psi).
Connect the synchronizing solenoid harness to the solenoid.
The pressure at pressure tap (3) must be 2400 kPa (348 psi) minimum.
Run the scraper engine up to HIGH IDLE rpm.
The pressure at pressure tap (3) must be 2724 103 kPa (395 15 psi).
When the test is completed, return the tractor transmission rotary selector spool to NEUTRAL and turn the scraper engine OFF. Next, turn the tractor key start and disconnect switch OFF and remove the test equipment.ProblemThe pressure in Step 15 is too low.
