Governor control parts.The 166-3605 Governor Control has added a spring to improve the return to low idle. Spring (1) fits on top of 149-5090 Bracket (2) and governor control lever (3).
An idle adjustment procedure has been released. The governor idle adjustment procedure minimizes stress or wear on the 149-5092 Cable (4), governor control lever (3), low idle adjustment screw (5) and high idle adjustment screw (6). Add this procedure to the systems operations testing and adjusting module.
Adaptable To: The new 3Y-2806 Spring began use in production with machine 3YW460. The new 3Y-2806 Spring is adaptable to machines back to first production. The new idle adjustment procedure is: 1. Adjust jam nut (B) so that cable (4) is centered in bracket (7).2. Push lever (A) fully forward.3. Adjust jam nut (C) so that the engine governor lever (3) lies against low idle speed adjustment screw (5).4. Check the low engine idle speed. Adjust low engine idle screw (5) to get the correct low idle setting. Refer to SENR5023, the System Operations Section for the correct idle setting. If necessary, loosen jam nut (C) and adjust jam nut (C) to add or remove cable to set the engine idle. Tighten jam nut (C).5. Adjust low idle adjustment screw locknut (8).6. Pull lever (A) fully rearward. Adjust bolt (D) so that engine governor lever (3) lies against high idle set screw (6).7. Check the engine high idle speed setting. Adjust engine high idle adjustment screw (6) to get the correct high idle setting. Refer to SENR5023, the System Operations Section for the correct idle setting.8. Adjust bolt (D) to allow the engine to operate in the full low to high idle range.9. Tighten locknuts (8), (9) and (10) that were loosened to adjust the idle range. The procedure is completed.
