Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the radiator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator - Remove".
Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal components.

The V-belts are under tension from the spring. If the wrench slips while releasing the belt tension, personal injury may result. Be sure the wrench is properly engaged with the belt tightener.
Position a wrench on belt tightener (2) and carefully release the tension of the spring on six V-belts (1). Remove six V-belts (1) .

Disconnect hose assembly (3) from belt tightener (2) .

Remove bolt (4) and retainer plate (5) that holds belt tightener (3) to bracket assembly (6). Remove belt tightener (3) from bracket assembly (6) .
