Introduction

(2) 6V-0128 Connector Seal The seal (2) of this connector may become damaged during the service of the connector. The seal may need to be replaced after the connector is serviced. The orientation of the seal is critical for proper operation of the connector.Cleaning the Connector
Use all cleaning solutions with care and in a well ventilated area. Always wear eye protection when using cleaning solutions. Failure to follow the precautions provided by the manufacturer on using, storing and disposing of any cleaning solution can result in bodily injury.
Many solvents have been found to damage some connector materials. Solvent based cleaners are not recommended. It is important that the connector mating surfaces be clean and dry before remating. If dirt or corrosion cannot be removed from the mating surfaces, the connector and/or terminals must be replaced.
Connectors that have been separated for service must be cleaned before the connector is reconnected.The interior mating surfaces of the connector should be cleaned by using a cotton swab and denatured alcohol.Seal Replacement
Note: No tools are required to replace the seal.
Remove the old seal from the connector assembly.
Remove any oil or debris from the groove of the connector (5) and the machined mating surface of the mounting location of the connector.

Orient the seal (2) with the flat side (4) toward the channel in the connector (5). Gently insert the flat side of the seal into the channel. Ensure that the seal is not twisted and that the seal is not cut.
Replace the connector into the assembly by ensuring that the seal is not twisted, cut, or removed from the groove during the reinstallation.
