Reference: Special Instruction, REHS0559, "Installation Of The HEUI Wiring Harness"Description of Change: New injector wiring harnesses are now used on these 3408E and 3412E engines. This new harness features connectors that are color coded. One harness is used for two cylinders under each valve cover. The white connector with the "F" is installed toward the front of the engine. The black connector with the "R" is installed toward the rear of the engine. Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2. The color coded connectors make installation of the harness easier.Note: The front of the engine is opposite the flywheel housing end. The left side and the right side of the engine are viewed from the flywheel housing.

This wiring diagram shows cylinder numbers and connector colors. The white connector with the "F" is installed toward the front of the engine. The black connector with the "R" is installed toward the rear of the engine. (A) 179-7087 Harness (B) Front of engineAdaptable To: The new 179-7087 Harness is a direct replacement for the former 107-4891 Harness. The former harness has been cancelled. The new 179-7087 Harness became effective with the 3408E (S/N: 7PR683) and 3412E (S/N: 4CR1256; 9KS587; 9PW307) engines. This harness is adaptable to all 3408E and 3412E engines.
