Procedure To Make Bearing Bore Sets Parallel
(1) If one set of bearing bores for the hitch or bracket assembly is machined, they must be machined parallel to the other set of bearing bores. Use the method that follows to make the bores parallel. (2) If only one set of bores in the hitch or bracket assembly needs to be machined, install the bearings and pin (1) in the other set of bores. Assemble centering ring (2) and measuring bar assembly (3). Put the centering ring on boring bar (4) and adjust rod (5) until the tip of the rod lightly hits the pin. Tighten locknut (6). Move the centering ring and measuring rod to the opposite end of the boring bar. If the tip of the rod lightly hits the pin, the bores are parallel. (3) If the tip of the measuring bar does not lightly hit the pin, measure the length of the measuring bar (3). Loosen the locknut and adjust the rod until the tip of the rod lightly hits the pin. Adjust the centering ring on the second side so that the point on the boring bar where the second measurement was taken moves 1/2 the difference between the two measurements.(4) Do step 2, and if necessary, step 3, until the bores are parallel.(5) If both sets of bores in the hitch or bracket assembly need to be machined, do steps 2, 3 and 4 after the first set of oversized bearings are installed.Modification Of Right Side Bores
(1) Move boring bar (1) so that a minimum of 4.4" (112) is outside of centering ring (2). Install feed assembly (3) on the left side of the machine as shown. Install 1P2364 Adapter to the boring bar on the right side of the machine. Move feed assembly control lever (4) to the OPEN position as shown and move the feed assembly to the end of the boring bar. (2) Move the feed assembly control lever to the FEED position. If necessary, move the feed assembly and boring bar so that there is clearance for the outer end of the feed assembly. Tighten screw (5). Move the feed assembly control lever to the OPEN position. (3) Measure distance (A) from the feed assembly housing to the end of the boring bar. Add 3.25" (82.6) for all 621 through 637 Machines or 3.96" (100.6) for all 641 through 657 Machines to dimension (A). Move the boring bar until the distance between the feed assembly housing and the end of the boring bar is equal to new distance (A). (4) Do the machine work in steps of .015" Ø-.020" Ø (0.38 Ø -0.51 Ø) and less than .010" Ø (0.25 Ø) for the last step. The chart above shows the bearing, the bearing oversize from standard, and the hitch bore diameter and tolerances that should be made before installation of the bearings is permissible. Measure the outside diameter of the new bearings before any machine work is done on the

Add 3.25" (82.6) for all 621 through 637 Machines or 3.96" (100.6) for all 641 through 657 Machines to dimension (A).
