Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" .
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

Remove four bolts (1) and two straps (2) at the end of drive shaft (3) .

Slide drive shaft (3) onto the splined end (4). Disconnect the drive shaft from rear yoke (5) and provide clearance for removal.

Remove four bolts (6) and two straps (7) that hold the drive shaft to front yoke (8) .
Remove the drive shaft from the machine. The weight of the drive shaft is 18 kg (40 lb).Installation Procedure

Install the drive shaft to the front yoke (8) with two straps (7) and four bolts (6). The Weight of the shaft is 18 kg (40 lb).

Install cast end (3) of the drive shaft to the rear yoke (5) .

Install two straps (2) and four bolts (1) at the cast end of drive shaft (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).End By: Connect steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
