Operating the Machine
Adjust the operator's seat.
Fasten the seat belt.
Start the engine.
Allow the engine to warm up for 3 to 5 minutes.
Before you move the machine, ensure that no one will be endangered.
Operate the machine in an open area. Check for proper operation of all controls and protective devices.
Raise all implements enough to clear any unexpected obstructions.

Push down on brake pedal (2). This will prevent the machine from moving.
Illustration 2 g00947078
Move parking brake switch (3) to the DISENGAGED position. Note: When parking brake switch (3) is disengaged, the transmission will automatically default to first speed range.

Move transmission direction selector (4) to the desired direction and to the desired speed. Release brake pedal (2) in order to release the brakes. Release brake pedal (2) in order to allow the machine to move.
Illustration 4 g00947093
Move the throttle control to the desired engine speed.
Check the service brakes. Note: The machine is capable of driving through the service brakes in the first speed range with the throttle control switch set at high idle.
Drive the machine forward for best visibility and for control. Changing Direction and Speed
Speed changes and directional changes at full engine speed are possible. However, deceleration is recommended when you change direction. This will maximize operator comfort.
Push decelerator pedal (1) downward in order to decrease the engine speed.
Push brake pedal (2) downward in order to stop the machine.
Rotate transmission direction selector (4) to the desired direction.
Push button (5) in order to upshift to the desired speed, or push button (6) in order to downshift to the desired speed.
Release the brake pedal.
Increase the engine speed by releasing the decelerator pedal. Note: If the machine is equipped with MVP, you can shift through the speed ranges automatically. If the "UPSHIFT" button is pressed and the button is held, the speed ranges will increment automatically at a frequency of 0.6 seconds per speed range. If the "DOWNSHIFT" button is pressed and the button is held, the speed ranges will decrease automatically at a frequency of 0.6 seconds per speed range.Normal Steering
Illustration 5 g00947094MVP equipped machines also have a steer assist function which causes the engine speed to increase as the operator requests a progressively sharper turn.Pull right steering brake/clutch control lever (8) toward the detent in order to make a gradual right turn.
