BACKHOE LOADER,
Information:
Bases and Foundations
The engineering design of the generator base must provide the support of the structure that avoids amplification of the vibration levels of the unit. The base must have a flat surface against the feet of the generator in order to prevent any deforming of the generator frame. The base must always be level on the floor. If needed, leveling the unit is achieved by placing shims between the base and the floor.Generators with Single Bearing
The base must be flat to allow correct support of the unit. Wherever possible, vibration isolators (shock absorbers) must be used for the generator and the engine to minimize transmission of vibration. When vibration isolators cannot be used between the unit and the base, vibration isolators must be used between the base and the floor. One of the types of installation are required, otherwise high levels of vibration will occur.Alignment and Leveling
The generator must be aligned with the engine, especially in cases of direct coupling.Incorrect alignment can cause defects in the bearings, vibration, and even shaft rupture.Coupling Location - Single Bearing Generators

(5) Measurement from front flange face to coupling disc face (6) Coupling disc (7) Coupling disc diameterGenerators are equipped with discs and flanges as per customer requests. The measurement (5) is the distance between the outer face of the disc to the flange face. Refer to Illustration 1.The measurement (5) is set at the factory as per Table 1. The installer of the generator set has the responsibility of verifying that the measure is consistent with the engine that is used. If measurement is not correct as set at the factory, damage to the generator and the engine can occur. In some installations, if the measurement is not correct, assembling the generator to the engine will not be possible.Note: All of the measurements in Table 1 are in millimeters.

Perform the following procedure to change the location of the coupling discs (11) .Note: The procedure assumes that the coupling discs (11) are accessible.
Remove the mounting bolts (13), adjusting rings (14), and the stop rings (15) for the coupling discs (11) .
Remove the coupling discs (11) .
Either add or remove the spacer rings (16) as needed.
Reverse the disassembly procedure to install the coupling discs (11) in the new location.
Torque the mounting bolts (13) to the appropriate value. Refer to Table 2 for the correct torque value.
