Lift the front of the truck until the front wheels are off the ground and the strut rods in the suspension cylinders are fully extended.
Move the wheels to a straight ahead position.
Measure distance (A) between the front tires at the front. Mark the measurement locations of distance (A) on the front of each tire.
Rotate the tires by 180 degrees.
Measure distance (B) between the marks on the back of each tire that were made in Step 3.
Use Table 1 to determine the correct toe-out when the front wheels are off the ground.

If the difference that was found in the previous step is not correct, adjust the tie rods. Use the following procedure to adjust the tie rods in order to get the correct toe-out with the front wheels off the ground:
Loosen clamps (1) and (2) .
The tie rods should be adjusted so that the tie rods are the same length.
Turn each tie rod by the same number of turns in order to get the correct toe-out.
Use the procedure in "Clamp Positioning" to align the tie rod with the clamp assembly. Failure to correctly locate the clamp assembly on the tie rod could shorten the service life of the tie rod assembly.
Lower the front of the truck.
Proper adjustment between distance (A) and distance (B) yields the correct toe-in when the truck is in normal operation with properly charged suspension cylinders.Clamp Positioning

Position the clamp assembly (3) on tie rod (4). Dimension (C) in Illustration 2 is the maximum distance between the clamp assembly and the end of the tie rod by the steering arm. Dimension (C) is 6 1.5 mm (0.24 0.06 inch). Dimension (D) in Illustration 2 is the maximum distance between the clamp assembly and the end of the tie rod by the center arm. Dimension (D) is 6 6 mm (0.24 0.24 inch).
Align the open portion of the clamp assembly (3) with one of the slots in tie rod (4). Refer to Illustration 3.
Torque nut (5) to 620 N m (455 lb ft).
